Description
Designed as a crouching bird with outstretched wings, the body set throughout with rose- and circular-cut diamonds to a circular cabochon ruby eye, the wings and tail embellished with mixed-cut rubies and sapphires, maker's marks, later pin fitting.
Condition
Estimated total weight of circular-cut diamonds approximately 1.6 - 2.0 carats, please note it is not possible to accurately estimate the total weight of the diamonds as many are rose-cut, bright, lively stones throughout. Sapphires a medium blue hue, medium to low colour saturation, typical inclusions visible with magnification. Rubies a medium purplish red (pinkish) hue, medium to low saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with a 10x lens. The rubies and sapphires all differ in size and shape. Mount with scratches consistent with age and wear. Rotating safety catch to pin fitting. Slight movement to wing. Estimated total weight approximately 50.8 grams. In very good condition.
