Description

Designed as a uniform row of cultured pearls to a central clasp set with an oval cabochon sapphire within surrounds of brilliant-cut and marquise-shaped diamonds, length approximately 480mm, signed Schilling, clasp can be detached and worn as a brooch, detachable brooch fittings.

Condition

Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to reverse of clasp and to removable brooch fitting. The sapphire measuring approximately 12.5mm x 9.9mm x 8.5mm, estimated to weigh approximately 11.36 carats, medium blue with moderately strong colour saturation, typical inclusions visible with magnification, some small cavities to the surface visible with the naked eye. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 5.50 - 6.50 carats, bright, lively stones. Cultured pearls well matched in size from approximately 10.0mm - 10.6mm, some off-round and others semi-baroque in shape, low to medium lustre, most with rosé and some with green overtones, several with noticeable pits and blemishes to skins particularly close to the drill holes, a few with damage to the surface of the nacreous layers. The necklace could benefit from being restrung and cleaned by a professional jeweller. In very good condition.
