Description
Designed as a fine mesh of seed pearls, to an open work plaque of geometric design highlighted with diamond points, finishing on demi-lune terminals set with rose-cut diamonds and suspending a pendant embellished with diamond-set foliate and scroll motifs, surrounding a diamond capped swing pearl drop, length approximately 730mm, pendant mid 19th century, French assay marks to clasp.
Condition
Estimated total diamond weight approximately 3.5 - 4.5 carats, mixed colours and clarities, bright stones. Highly articulated swing drop to centre of pendant. The pearl a drop-shape, with subtle rosé overtones, medium lustre and some light pitting to the skin surface, measuring approximately 10.8mm x 8.4mm. Small lead solder repairs to reverse of pendant, not visible when worn. Traces of gold solder visible to the reverse of several links and the larger connecting link to pendant, not visible from the front. The remaining small seed pearls well matched in size measuring approximately 2.3 - 2.6mm, with a cream bodycolour, some with rosé overtones, medium lustre on average. Very fine woven pearl work, highly articulated. Secure clasp. In very good condition.
