Description
The brooch designed as a lozenge, centring on a collet-set circular buff top facetted amethyst, within a purple and green guilloché enamel ground, maker's marks for Leo de Vroomen, British hallmarks for London, 1993, accompanied by a pair of ear clips of similar design, clip fittings, signed de Vroomen, British hallmarks for London, 1994, maker's marks.
Condition
Brooch: Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Some very light scratches to polished gold to obverse, enamel in very good condition. The amethyst stated to weigh 10.9 carats, amethysts throughout are a medium purple hue with moderately strong saturation of colour, loupe clean with polishing lines visible only with magnification. Content of gold stated to be 28.0 grams. Ear clips: Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to reverse of each earring. Some very light scratches to polished gold, enamel in very good condition, amethysts stated to weigh 16.0 carats in total, the gold content stated to be 24.0 grams. Strong clips. Demi-parure in excellent condition.
