Description
- h.71cm.; diam 71cm.
ebony, amboyna and marquetry
Condition
Very pretty. The top is finely inlaid, there are however cracks to the veneer. There is also a surface split to the top. This condition is often typical, importantly there does not appear to be any losses to the veneers. There appears to be a later strengthening bracket to the underside of the top. The supporting pillar and base is a lovely rich colour. There are traces of worm to these components. The ebonised scrolled bracket feet are probably later replacements, these have been finely worked and are sympathetic and fitting replacements. The very bottom of the triform base has a circular area of discolouration, this is obviously only visible when the table is turned upside down. Nice size and decorative.
