Catalogue Note
William `Quaker' Pegg was the leading flower painter of his day. Born in 1775 he worked at the Derby factory for two short periods; the first from 1796 to 1801, and the second from 1813 to 1820. Unlike most of his contempories, Pegg painted largely from nature rather than copying from botanical magazines of the period.
