An elm longcase clock, Henry Simcock, Great Billing, circa 1695, movement and case associated

10-inch dial with cherub and leaf scroll spandrels, signed along the lower edge Henry Simcok, Greatt Billing, the centre with calendar aperture and well engraved with leaf scrolls and tulips, the movement with five knopped and ring-turned latched pillars, plain barrels and outside count wheel, the backplate cut for the anchor, the associated and later case with moulded flat top above a dentil frieze, hood pilasters, rectangular trunk door and plain plinth with moulded base

Dial is reasonably clean but would benefit from resilvering to the chapter ring, hands probably changed. Movement appears to have original wheel work throughout, much in need of a clean. Associated and later case has loose top to the hood, some evidence of old worm damage, many old cracks and marks throughout, trunk door lock lacking. With pendulum, 2 brass-cased weights, pendulum and winder.
