12-inch silvered engraved dial signed John Ross, Inverarary, with seconds dial, calendar dial in the arch and strike/not strike lever above XII, rack and bell striking movement with five knopped pillars, dead beat escapement and long crutch, the pendulum with heavy lenticular bob and calibrated regulation nut, the case with swan neck cresting above panels of fret, brass-capped fluted hood pilasters, rectangular trunk door flanked by fluted pilasters with carved capitals, plain plinth with bracket feet
Condition
Dial needs re-silvering, nicely crafted hands. Movement complete but needs a clean. Associated case with old marks cracks and scuffs throughout, frets probably replaced. With pendulum, 2 weights, 2 winders and case key.
