- 50cm. 19¾in. high
7½-inch painted dial with scroll spandrels, signed Radford & Sons, Leeds, with calendar aperture and well pierced steel hands, the arch with strike/silent dial, the two train bell striking fusee movement similarly signed, with five knopped pillars and verge escapement, backplate engraved with leaf scrolls, the bell top case with carrying handle, cone finials, the front door inset with gilt-brass frets and with brass framed aperture, bracket feet
Condition
Dial requires some restoration. Movement complete but in need of a clean. Case generally good, minor veneer cracks and chips. With 2 winders and a case key.

Catalogue Note
Thomas Radford was born in 1731 and was apprenticed to Dolliff Rollisson of Halton near Leeds in 1745. He is recorded as working near the Cross in Leeds and was married in 1759. His sons Thomas and William were born in 1761 and 1764 and joined him in the business. Thomas II died in 1793, Thomas I died in 1801 and William died in 1826.
