25-cm foliate engraved brass dial, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, pierced blued hands and apertures for date and moonphase, subsidiaries in the arch for strike/silent, tune selection and chime/not chime, arched silvered signature plaque engraved Benson & Higgs London, mask spandrels alternated by polychrome flowers, substantial three train fusee and chain movement with foliate egraved back plate, anchor escapement and rack Dutch quarter striking on two alternating bells, 12.5-cm cylinder musical mechanism playing one of six tunes with a with 22 hammers on 11 bells every half hour or at will, tortoiseshell veneered case with shaped top surmounted by five urn finials, shaped moulded cornice over finely pierced frets with a foliate brass mount, elaborately pierced brass side frets and herm mounts over the canted corners, moulded plinth with canted corners raised on shell feet
