Description

each cast with three female herms wearing flower garlands on their veiled heads, a single nozzle surmounting and fitted with a loose stem issuing two scrolled candle arms and a further nozzle, on a broad base with stylised acanthus pattern (2)

A similar candlestick with comparable herms is shown on a drawing from a catalogue of an unknown Parisian bronze manufacturer ( Ottomeyer/ Proeschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Muenchen 1986, p. 326 fig. 5.1.7)
