mounted in gilt brass and veneered in tortoiseshell, inlaid in Régènce style with foliate strapwork inhabited by monkeys, incorporating an inkwell of glass, the sander missing, the carcass of oak, applied on the underside with a rectangular plaque of brass describing the provenance
