Catalogue Note
Louis Bertin Parant was employed "en extrordinaire" at the Sèvres manufactory between 1806 and 1841, though he also produced work for the Paris manufactories. He is particularly noted for his imitations of cameos, in which style he depicted kings of France, as well as Napoleon. See S. Wittwer, Refinement and Elegance, cat.nos. 8 and 9.
