Description

  • interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letters cc and painter's mark 9. in blue
  • the stand: 20.6cm., 8 1/16 in. across handles
each painted by Charles-Nicolas Buteux with sprays of roses within gilt-edged kidney-shaped panels reserved against a yellow-ground band with trellis and floral pattern, between foliate bands on the blue seeded ground, the stand with a gilt foliate medallion in the centre enclosing the blue seeded ground, the handles and pomegranate finial gilt (restorations)

Condition

A firing crack running down the inside of the ecuelle (c. 4.5cm), the stand with very light rubbing to gilding of the edge of the well and the handles, otherwise in generally good condition.
