Description

  • 28cm., 11in.
modelled by J.J. Kändler, holding a pug dog under her left arm with another beneath her skirt, wearing a skirt with sprigs of indianische Blumen and trimmed in blue, wih an iron-red underskirt, her bonnet with a purple ribbon, the canted rectangular pedestal with a gilt foliate motif on each side

Condition

haircracks to the front and reverse of the ladies skirt, one haircrack with restoration in the area of the blue trim, some small chips around the edge of the skirt und underskirt, one tiny flat chipt to the ear of the lower mops, the forefinger of the ladies right hand missing

Recorded in Kändler's work records of June 1744 and in the Taxa: "Dame von Mopß Orden, auf einem Postament stehend in der linkcken Hand einen Mopß Hund haltend, auch einen zum Füßen liegend, vor die Printzeßin von Hertfordt."
