- 26cm., 10¼in.
probably workshop of Guido Durantino, depicting a scene from the story of Apollo and Marsyas, Apollo shown to the left, tying Marsyas to a tree trunk, with the musical instruments lying at the foot of the tree, watched by a river god, the scene set against an elaborate Renaissance townscape
Condition
Generally in good condition, four stilt marks to the rim visible in the photograph also small unglazed area top left of lefthand tree.
The rim has been polished flat virtually all the way round, this has mainly resulted in loss to the border apart from approximately 20cm at the bottom right from the stilt mark below Apollo's right foot to the left hand of the river god where some of the decoration may have been lost.
The reverse with a small chip to foot rim.
