rhodium plated lever movement (cal.Angelus SF240), 15 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, double-layered dial with luminous lower and matt grey upper dial with incised Arabic and baton numerals, subsidiary seconds at 9 with similarly incised markers at the quarters, unusual domed crystal, crown with patented security brake lever lock, screw-down sapphire crystal display back, case and dial signed Panerai, with wide brushed steel Panerai buckle

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Panerai Certificate, Specification Certificate, spare strap and screwdriver for strap change, leather wallet containing instructions and leaflet, bar coded swing tag and a hard bound book in Italian by Spertini, M & Bagnasco, E, entitled: I Mezzi D'Assalto Della Xa Flottiglia Mas 1940-1945. The whole contained with a very large wood veneered presentation case, card outer box and additional shipping card box with Panerai bar coded label. 

The present wristwatch incorporates a manually wound Angelus calibre 8-day movement with a 192 hour power reserve. Panerai located a series of these movements which were originally used in some sections of the armed forces in the 1940s. Refurbished by Panerai, these movements were incorporated into the "1950" model in a limited edition of 150 pieces of which the present lot is numbered 124.
