the enamel dial signed Bright Paris with trefoil hands, similarly signed bell striking and repeating movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement and plain steel balance, the highly elaborate glazed case with shaped handle and grotesque terminals, the front and rear with recumbent putti flanking a globe on the cresting, further putti on the scrolling lower section and mermen and mermaid forming the feet and flanking a central shell; the whole raised on a similarly decorated stand with dolphin feet
