Catalogue Note
Jonathan Lowndes was probably born in 1656 as it is recorded he was married in September 1679, at the age of 23, in St.Martins in the Fields, London. He took a number of apprentices and he had premises at The Dial in Pall Mall. There are no records of him after 1702 so that is likely to be the year of his death.
