Description
the baluster body rising from a splayed foot skirted by large bosses to the swelling shoulders applied in thread relief with a continuous band of ruyi-heads linked by pendant lappets, below two pronounced concentric ribs and a pair of confronting archaistic dragons incised around the tall neck, all before the broad flaring trumpet mouth with a keyfret band at the rim
Condition
It appears there was external contact with the neck, resulting in a dent now filled in and causing a horizontal crack halfway around the neck. There is a vertical crack to the neck 1 3/4 inch long. The mouth with a 1 inch chip. The rim is slightly warped and the foot is a little uneven with a 1/4 inch chip. The two ribs with some cracks and restored chips, another horizontal crack above the top rib. There are small patches of encrustation and the patina is very nice.
