Description

each with a yoke-shaped crest rail set above a plain S-shaped rectangular backsplat and undulating backposts, set upon the cane seat secured within a rectangular frame to the legs joined by thickly beaded aprons with shaped centers above the stepped base stretchers and footrest (2)

Condition

Each with filled patches beneath the crest rail and at the base of the rear member flanking the splat, possibly indicating that the splat originally had flanged brackets on either side at the top and base, later removed. Veneered huanghuali on a softwood surface, joinery loose, one foot with wedge-shaped patch approximately 3 inches.
