each supported on thick legs of round section, joined by humpbacked stretchers encircling the legs and set with four pillar-shaped struts on each side, the hard mat seat panel enclosed by the square frame (2)

Condition

Each with hard cane tops, one with 3 x 4 inch oval and a 1 x 1 inch missing section. The joinery on both is loose. One stool with semi-circular patch to the top framework. There is a broken and repaired corner join. Cane holes have been filled in, the underside later reinforced with blocks attached by screws and nails, with numerous areas of filled in repairs. The second stool with filled cane holes and a split through the interior side of the arched apron.
