of hexagonal form, the flat top supported on a waisted pierced frieze, resting on six short cabriole legs, joined by a shaped rounded apron with scalloped edges, the black lacquered surface richly inlaid with mother-of-pearl, depicting a central scene of scholars in a grand garden pavilion, enclosed by a lobed cartouche reserved on three distinct diaper grounds, the apron containing central cartouches of hares among scrolling waves, Japanese wood box (2)

Condition

The stand is in good condition with minor lacquer flakes on the base of feet showing through to the wooden core. Very minor replacements to mother-of-pearl, with lacquer touch-ups.
