the globular body in gilt, underglaze-blue, and iron-red, with lotus scrolls amidst dense foliage, the collar with a band of cloud scrolls below a triangular sawtooth border, with upright plantain leaves at the neck below a row of wan symbols and a ruyi-head scroll at the everted lip

Condition

There are tiny pinpricks and bumps throughout, and evidence of glaze pulling concentrated towards the bottom of the vase. There is expected wear on the gilt paint on the surface of the body. The underglaze red and underglaze blue is less saturated in hue than shown in the corresponding catalogue image. A .5 cm scratch to the glaze is visible on the ridge below the everted mouthrim.
