Description
of hexagonal form rising from six ruyi-shaped legs flanking a stylized apron, the floor of the platform enamelled with butterflies and floral sprays, rising to rectangular panels of ducks, magpies, and river landscapes, all below another apron with pierced ruyi-heads, the domed cover with six cartouches featuring landscapes, magpies and butterflies, surmounted by a large finial in the design of a chrysanthemum bloom (2)
Condition
There are pinholes scattered across the finial cover. There is expected wear to the gilding throughout. The rim of the censer has been chipped slightly where the cover rests on the body of the censer. Overall the censer is in good condition.
