A Copper-Red glazed Vase Qing Dynasty, 19th Century

Estimate
5,000 - 7,000 USD
bidding is closed

Description

of ovoid form rising from a tapering foot, painted in underglaze-red with scrolling lotus, the shoulder with a frieze of chrysanthemum scrolls, all below lotus petal lappets at the neck, the rounded mouthrim bordered by a thin red line, apocryphal Xuande mark to the base

Condition

This is in good condition overall. The line just below the mouthrim does not follow completely around, but fades in tone. The red in the catalogue is slightly more pronounced than on the vase.
