Description
of bottle shape with elongated neck, the body enamelled with a large and small lion playing with a colorful brocade ball tied with long ribbons, the same motif repeated on the opposite side, the animals illustrated with fiercely scrolling manes and colored with green, blue, yellow, red, and black, the bottom with a ring of overlapping lotus lappets, a band at the shoulder with scrolling chrysanthemum and peony blossoms, the bottom of the neck with upright ruyi-lappets, facing the top of the neck with downturned ruyi-lappets suspending alternating jade gongs and open lozenges, all below a band of continuous citrus blossoms rising to an everted lip, supported by a short foot
Condition
There is a chip to the rim 1/4 inch wide. Areas of kiln grit scattered across the body concentrated around the shoulder. There is a burst bubble below the shoulder band and another above the bottom lappets. This is in good condition overall.
