Description
the steep rounded sides rising from a tapering foot, the center brightly enameled with flowering prunus branches entwined around a large gnarled pine tree, within a border of ruyi-shaped petals around the cavetto and a wider band of six leaf-shaped cartouches enclosing floral sprays on an iron-red diaper and green dotted cell ground, the underside painted with an artemesia leaf in underglaze-blue
Condition
There is a fine 7.1 cm crack extending down from the rim with a couple tiny attendant flakes, some rim fritting, the largest flake 0.7x1.5 cm, and some minor speckling to the exterior. Some of the purplish/blue enamels to the leaves have been re-touched, there is a small 0.9x0.6 cm glaze flake to the center (to the blue leaves left of the pine trunk), and there is expected surface wear. Otherwise, the dish is in overall good condition and the enamels are as brilliant as they appear in the catalogue photograph.
