the cover carved with a scene of four women in various pursuits, accompanied by male attendants amidst the lush garden landscape, reserved against three distinct diaper grounds, the sides of the cover and box encircled by detached lotus and foliate scrolls, all supported on four short bracket feet, the interior and base lacquered black (2)

There are small chips to the two ends of a stick behind the central standing figure, and a tiny chip to the tip of a pine tree on the upper left corner. The sides of box and cover with repainted old chips, one crack to the bottom left corner at the side, and small chips and cracks to edges of the cover, box and interior. In good condition.
