Description
of slightly compressed globular form, supported on a short splayed foot, boldly carved below the upright neck with a scrolling meander bound between saw-tooth borders, the conical cover in the form of an overturned lotus leaf, with flattened everted rim, circular knop and incised lines suggestive of the 'veins', covered overall in a warm olive-green glaze, pooling to a darker green in the recesses (2)
Condition
Half of the mouthrim appears to have some light restoration to the very edge of the rim. The half of brim of the cover has been restored with large restuck original pieces. The restoration is very well done. There is are two horizontal firing cracks, each 1/2 inch long on the exterior of the body. However the overall condition is still quite good.
