Description

of compressed globular form, finely carved with 'rope twist' strapwork around the body forming a pattern of lozenge-shaped panels on an otherwise plain ground, the stone of celadon tone with faint russet and white inclusions

Condition

There is a long area of russet inclusion, visible in the catalogue, across the top of the washer to the left of the mouth. There is a 3/16 inch nick to the rim. The washer is darker and grayer than in the catalogue image. Otherwise it is in good condition overall.
