Description

each of stylized form with straight-rising sides, one carved with a finger citron or 'Buddha's hand' fruit to the cover, the box of the same form but left plain, with russet and white inclusions, the other cover carved with a pomegranate accentuated with hexagonal-patterned skin hanging from a curving tree branch, a bee hovering at the fruit, also with a box of the same shape, with white veins and inclusions (4)

Condition

The boxes and covers are in good overall condition. There is one tiny nick to the edge of the finger citron cover (at 9 o'clock on the catalogue image).The pomegranate cover has a polished down section at the edge near a small nick (at 4 o'clock in the catalogue image). The color of the covers in the catalogue is more green than on the pieces themselves.
