each a mirror image of the other, with two panels enamelled onto opposite sides of the body, depicting the liveliness of a lotus pond, with dragonflies, cranes and ducks, the remainder of the vessel with floral sprays and beribboned swastikas, all against a turquoise and light blue ground inlaid with wan-diaper cloisons, the straight neck rising to an everted square mouthrim (2)
Condition
One of the vases with loss to enamel at the mouthrim and the foot, most of the loss filled in with wax. The same vase with an uneven base, causing it to slightly wobble. The cloisons of both have retained their gilt. In overall good condition.
