Description

set upon the trunks of three naturalistically rendered gilt elephant heads with tusks, the dish rising from the foot enamelled with a band of red, black and white triangle pattern, the rounded sides of the bowl reaching an uneven undulating rim, the interior decorated with a lush panoply of flowers including peony, chrysanthemum, camellia and lotus, all issuing from three large trees of black, red and purple, with majestic butterflies among the blooms, with ruyi-shaped rocks shooting from the ground, the exterior with scrolling lotus interspersed with the 'Eight Buddhist Emblems', all on turquoise ground, the bottom with a black and white floret diaper ground
