Description

the ovoid body rising from a short straight foot to a broad waisted neck, finely enamelled around the exterior with a continuous river landscape scene, all set between ruyi-bordered bands of floral strapwork reserved on a rich ruby-red ground, the interior and base turquoise

Condition

The vase is in very good overall condition with the exception of a 2mm. diam. enamel flake below the rim and very minor glaze scratches. It should be noted that the enamels are of a slightly brighter and richer tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
