Description

of elegant baluster form, slip-decorated around the exterior with four large figures of Immortals, each glazed in red and green and reserved on a rich powder-blue ground

Condition

The vase has restoration to a long hairline body crack that extends from the rim down to the shoulder and splitting into two cracks running down towards the base; a 1cm wide bruise to the edge of the foot; and a minor firing line at the edge of the foot. It should be noted that the blue is of a slightly more vibrant tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
