Description
each globular body of compressed lobed form and brightly decorated around the exterior with 'One Hundred Deer', surmounted by a short neck and everted straight rim, the gilt-bronze domed and lobed cover set with four ruyi-shaped cloisonne panels, all raised on four blade-shaped legs, wood stands
Condition
Cover 1: Three small areas of restoration to pink diaper-work, possible covering bolt holes. Six bruises to sides of body, the largest 8cm, some loss to enamel. Bolts remaining, from handles. Subsequent restoration. Some retouching to gilding. Wooden base, one split and formerly restuck, surface wear, in keeping with age, one part of foot missing.
Cover 2: four bolt holes evident to underside of covers, with restoration to enamel. Some retouching to gilding. Two large bruises to two lobed panels of bodies, largest 9cm, minor enamel loss. Small area of loss to one side shoulderl 4 by 3cm. Also some evidence that each one would have had three feet bolt holes remaining. Some repair to wooden stand.
