painted to the centre with a ferocious green dragon picked out in black enamel leaping amidst flames and clouds in pursuit of a flaming pearl, the exterior with two dragons in mutual pursuit of flaming pearls amongst cloud and fire scolls, all within single blue-line borders

The bowl is of good overall condition with the exception of: two pin head-sized iron spot imperfections and minute scattered burst glaze bubbles to the glaze of interior and exterior. One small glaze pull (ca. 0.4cm) to one dragon on the exterior. Minor glaze scratches to the enamel of the interior. The colour of the bowl is of a slightly warmer tone than in illustration.

Kangxi 'dragon' dishes of this type, following the Ming prototypes, are found in important museums and private collections.
