Description
the harmonious twins modelled on a lotus base, one standing holding a plaintain leaf, the other seated, a basket at his feet containing a bat, their details finely incised, impressed mark to reverse
Condition
The porcelain is bluer in real life than the catalogue suggests.
With a complex figure of this type, it is to be expected that there are some losses and chips:
chip of approx 4mm. to plaintain leaf. Small chip to tip of ribbon from waist of standing figure.
Seated figure, left earring missing, tips of bats claws missing. several minor chips to edges of lotus leaves around the base, the most signifcant is the edge of one leaf which has been ground, approx 4cm., along its edge.
