deeply carved to the front face with an Immortal and attendant standing at the edge of a cave with a large archaic bronze ding, inscribed above with four lines of calligraphy, the reverse carved with a dog recumbent at the entrance to a cave beneath old gnarled pine branches and amidst swirling mist, inscribed above with three lines of calligraphy, the stone of pale celadon tone with a russet skin, wood stand

The boulder is in very good overall condition. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker and of more celadon tone than the catalogue illustration woukd suggest.

The inscription on the front and the back of the boulder reads and translates as follows:
Du Ming shengyi. Qianlong yuannian zhi.
The healer Du Ming. Made in the first year of the Qianlong reign.
Jing shang. Hong Zi ti.
