the pebble deeply carved to the front face with a scholar and his qin carrying assistant standing on jagged rocks at the entrance to a cave, the figures surrounded by over-hanging rocks and pine trees and with steps to a pagoda behind them, the reverse similarly carved, the off-white stone with a skin of buff tone
Condition
The boulder is in very good overall condition. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
