A GOOD PAIR OF 'FAMILLE-VERTE' RECTANGULAR PANELS QING DYNASTY

Estimate
10,000 - 15,000 GBP
bidding is closed

Description

mounted as a pair of etagere tables, each well painted with figural court scenes, ladies fishing in a lotus pond garden, watched by figures from pagoda terraces, the other with a similar terraced scene of ladies looking upon a garden enclosure

Condition

Examined within their mounts. The panels are in very good overall condition with the exception of minor iron-spot glaze firing imperfections, scattered burst glaze bubbles and minor glaze scratches. In addition one panel has two circa 1cm. diam. areas of flaking to the enamels. It should be noted that the enamels are brighter and stronger than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
