of bottle form, the globular body rising from a short straight foot and freely painted with three horses galloping amidst clouds and fire scrolls, the tall waisted neck with swelling base painted with ruyi and lotus lappet bands beneath two strapwork panels enclosing auspicious emblems  

The vase has restoration to a 3cm., wide crescent-shaped break at the rim; minor nibbles to the rim; and scattered pinhead-sized burst glaze bubbles around the globular body. It should be noted the cobalt-blue is of a richer tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
