Description
of sturdily potted hexagonal section, the shouldered body sitting on a splayed foot and rising to a waisted neck flanked by a pair of tubular handles, covered overall in a thick bluish grey glaze with a widely dispersed crackle, the footring with a dark brown slip, the base inscribed with the six-character seal mark in underglaze-blue
Condition
There is an area to the bottom of the foot of approx 2.5 by 1cm which has chipped off and is missing. The area next to it, approx 3 by 1cm, has been lightly reinforced with glue. There is scratching to the surface at the base, resulting from rubbing from usage of a stand. Otherwise the vase is in good condition overall. The crackles to the glaze at the extremities are slightly more fragile.
