A highly comparable charger is illustrated in Revue de l'Exposition Universelle de 1889, p. 363, where Dammouse is hailed as the most innovative ceramicist of the moment; 'Actuellement c'est M. Dammouse, de Sèvres qui tient la corde. (...) Dammouse n'est pas seulement ingénieux practicien, décorateur fécond, coloriste aimable et raffiné, son talent est fait de charme et de sensibilité. Ses porcelaines ont je ne sais quel aspect précieux et rare'.
