Coupe Henri II, decorated with moulded floral cartouches in blue and white picked out in gilt on a pâte changeant ground and Mélange Coloré body

Catalogue Note

In an entry on 30th March 1872 in the Sèvres Archives notes the delivery of '6 coupes Henry II unies décor en or et pâte d'applic. dorure ornement garniture Charpentier. ornements en pâte d'application'. For a comparable piece see A. Hallé and T. Préaud Porcelaines de Sèvres au XIXe siècle, cat.no.183, p.25f. There are three different types of the Coupe Henri II. A smaller coupe was sold at Sotheby's Olympia, 13th April 2006, lot 87.
