modelled by Peter Reinicke, holding a saucepan on a brick stove, wearing a white hat, shirt and apron with a cloth draped over his left arm, yellow breeches and black shoes, the scroll-edged base heightened in gilding

After the drawing by Christophe Huet of 1753, inscribed '...Ch - ein Koch, welcher seine ... kostet und ein Seviertuch unterm Arm hat No 18 1753' [...a cook who tastes his ... and has a serving napkin under his arm]; quoted by Eberle, op.cit., no.29.
