the flat circular tray with raised rim, over a tall trumpet foot with folded rim

For similar examples, generally with gadrooned bases but having the same style of flared foot as the present lot, attributed to Ravenscroft, see K.Kelsall, Glass in 18th century England. The Footed Salver, pp.52-55, figs.6 and 10, vide the Goring Brewery tazza (now at Temple Newsam House, Leeds) probably made at Henley-on-Thames under Ravenscroft's supervision.
