A rare Bohemian enamelled blue-tinted beaker with the Lamb of God
dated 1598
the flared cylindrical form with slightly everted rim, applied nipped footring and three applied prunts, painted with a standing Lamb carrying a cross, inscribed 1598 above, the reverse with stylised flowers, a gilt band edged with two rows of white enamel dots above and two concentric bands, kick-in base

an applied collector's paper label to the base 'Magniac Collection' and inscribed 416

An almost identical beaker can be found in the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam (see C.Isings, Schönes Altes Glas, no.38, and H.van Gelder and B.Jansen, Glas in nederlandse musea, pl.106).
