Description

patinated and cold painted bronze, ivory and marble, modelled standing on one leg, a flute held to her lips, raised on asymmetrical stepped circular base

Condition

A large and striking model of good overall appearance. The good condition and colour of the patina suggest that it has been re-painted. Some wear to the silvering of her hair. there are two cracks to the left side of her face and neck and one or two minor cracks to her forearms. The marble base has been restored to a small section. Overall an impressive model, ready for display. Please note this lot contains ivory which my be subject to export and import restrictions. For example, ivory cannot be imported into the United States. Your attention is drawn to the Endangered Species section of the Guide for Prospective Buyers at the back of the catalogue (Section 4).
